Muhammad Ali was a boxer known for his impressive skills in the ring and his controversial personality outside of it. But beyond his fame and success as a sports icon, Ali’s story is one of hard work, determination, and a strong belief in his principles.
Ali was born Cassius Clay in Louisville, Kentucky in 1942. From a young age, he showed an interest in boxing and began training at the age of 12. He went on to win numerous amateur titles before turning professional in 1960.
In 1964, at the age of 22, Ali shocked the world by defeating Sonny Liston to become the heavyweight champion of the world. It was a victory that launched him into the international spotlight and cemented his place as one of the greatest boxers of all time.
